01 — What is this?

1A course with group coaching that teaches you how to raise.

It is not a newsletter, and it is not a Slack group with a paywall. Equity Academy is a structured course on raising capital, delivered alongside live group coaching and a private community of founders going through the same thing. You learn the material, you bring your own business to the calls, and you get told what is actually wrong with it.

The course

Lessons that take you from a vague idea to an investor-ready raise: value proposition, business plan, financial model, valuation, returns, and the cap table underneath it all.

The group coaching

Weekly live calls where you put your numbers, your deck, and your equity decisions in front of a coach and the group. Hot seats, deal reviews, direct feedback. Recorded if you miss one.

The community

Private channels, direct messages, and a searchable directory of founders, operators, and investors. The people who answer at 11pm when a term sheet lands in your inbox.

02 — What's in it for me?

2Clarity in business growth and funding.

That is the whole promise. You stop guessing what investors want, you stop handing equity to people who do not grow the business, and you find out whether you need to raise at all — or whether your revenue is already enough to scale.

  • Know what you are actually buildingA value proposition and business plan you can put in front of an investor without flinching.
  • Know your numbersA financial model and calculated returns — so you can answer the hard questions instead of deflecting them.
  • Keep your equityGive shares only to people who move the business forward, and see exactly what dilution costs you before you sign.
  • Know whether to raise at allSometimes the answer is no. For some businesses revenue is already enough to scale — you should know which one you are.
  • Position yourself to investorsMove from people-pleasing to pursuing the priorities of your business — and watch investor relationships improve.
  • Stop guessing aloneWeekly coaching and a room of founders in the same position, instead of advisors handing you toxic positivity.

03 — Why should I trust you?

3Because of what founders say after working with Sorina.

Not theory from someone who has never sat across the table from an investor. Real founders, real raises, real changes to how they run their businesses. Here is what they said.

She's more than just an advisor. She's part of the business. When I started, 2 years ago, I was granting too much access to people who weren't fit for the business. It took a couple of months to weed them all out and to focus solely on the value drivers for the business.

A., 31

Working with Sorina has brought me a lot more clarity to how I'm positioning myself towards investors. I went from people pleasing to actually pursuing the priorities for my business and my team. From previous advisors I got a lot of toxic positivity and it led me to having survivorship bias. She gave me confidence and our relationships with our investors have vastly improved.

M., 51

Before working with Sorina I was focusing on the wrong things. I thought I needed to wait for investors before scaling the business. It turned out, for us, the revenue itself has proven to be enough for scaling. Now I keep my equity only for people who actually grow the business.

R., 29

When I came to Sorina I had only a vague idea of what I was building. I had the connections, all I had to do was present a good value proposition to them. Together we built an entire business plan, financial model and calculated returns. It was all I needed to go raise money.

M., 55
